NHS Choices provices a behind the headlines news service that looks deeper behind the news stories related to health. The site analyses the information available and gives an unbiased view, based on the evidence on that particular topic.
The site can be used by members of the public but is also of interest to qualified health professionals, particularly nurses and carers and GPs. It gives information that will help GPs provide a better response to patients about questions on health topics in the news. It is also of value to science and health journalists.
The service was developed by Sir Muir Gray, chief knowledge officer of the NHS who still takes a great deal of interest in the project. |
