Rock Band for the Xbox 360

Rock Band: be a rock star on your Xbox 360

April 4 2008

Gamers will be ready and waiting for the release of the new Rock Band music video game, made specifically for the Xbox 360 platform by Harmonix, MTV Games and EA. The game will be out for sale for the first time on May 23 in game shops all over the UK.

The game is likely to be a big hit with rock music followers who also like gaming. It promises to let players interact with the music and enables you to put your own band together, set for a world tour. You can be all band members, playing drums, bass guitar, and singing lead vocals.

The Xbox 360 will be the sole platform for the game at its initial release, but, later in the summer, the companies plan to produce a version of the game for Wii and Playstation 3 (PS3).

The game disc includes plenty of music from some of the world's greatest rock stars and includes many different styles and genre, including heavy metal, classic rock, alternative rock, punk and indie. Already available in the US, the UK version will have the same 58 tracks from bands such as Blur and Oasis. Additional tracks are likely to be available later.

This sounds like a fun game for music lovers, but it doesn't come cheap. The game itself is set to retail at just under £50.00 but you will need the musical accessories for the full experience - which could cost a further £130.00. Ouch...
